There are two campuses; the mainly used King’s College campus occupies the part of the city known as Old Aberdeen, about two miles north of the city centre. Although the original site of the University Foundation, with the exception of the King’s College Chapel and Courtyard, most of the academic buildings were constructed during a period of significant expansion in the 20th century. The University’s Foresterhill campus is adjacent to Aberdeen Royal Hospital and houses the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Together these buildings form one of the largest health campuses in Europe.
