This PhD program belongs to the Faculty of Energy Systems at LUT and its research covers the technologies and systems required for the production, transfer, distribution and use of energy, from manufacturing and fuels to consumption. The strengths of the unit include in-depth knowledge of energy systems, digital design and manufacturing of machinery and equipment, as well as demanding welded metal structures.
The PhD program (D.Sc./Ph.D.) consists of doctoral studies (40 ECTS credits) and research leading to the writing of 4-5 journals and a thesis that must be publicly defended. During doctoral education, students acquire in-depth knowledge of the research field in order to be able to apply scientific research methods and generate new scientific knowledge independently.
